Why Knock 'em Dead ? In 1985, when this book was first published, we began by answering the question "Why another book about interviewing?" Because the others stop at that critical point when the tough questions start flying. Sadly, that critique of the many other books out there is still valid. And with over three million Knock 'em Dead books in print worldwide, there seems ample evidence that readers agree with my 1985 assessment. Still, Knock 'em Dead has not stood still. In the years since that first edition, this book has grown in size and scope every year; it has doubled in length and now covers the entire job search process. I am confident that it does so with a broader scope, and with more depth and originality, than any other book in the field. The ever-expanding page count reflects my responses to the constantly changing realities of the world of work. Although we have revised the work throughout, this flexible approach is perhaps best exemplified by one of the newer sections, "When You See Clouds on the Horizon."
