This book is timely given the intense on-going efforts in drug discovery. The new millennium has given rise to new technology, and with it the promise for better target identification and validation. Investigators have focused this new technology on natural products as many of them hint at substantial activity if only they can be identified and further developed. Drs. Tan, Bay, and Zhu are to be congratulated for editing this book, much of which was presented at the 2nd International Conference of the International Society for the Development of Natural Products which was co-hosted by the Department of Pharmacology, The National University of Singapore in 2002.
